BoniCansoCANSO welcomes Boni Dibate as the association’s Africa Project Liaison Officer. Boni is on secondment from ATNS, the air navigation service provider for South Africa.

In her new position, Boni will act as a focal point for the air traffic management industry in Africa, serving as the regional interface between CANSO and its Member ANSPs, other international aviation bodies, ICAO, airlines, airports and air traffic controllers.

CANSO Director General Graham Lake said: “CANSO Members work together to deliver a safe, efficient and cost-effective air traffic management system all over the world, and I am certain our new Africa Office will have much to contribute. Boni will undoubtedly add new momentum to our activities in the region and I am positive that ANSPs all over Africa will benefit from her impressive skills and expertise.”

Boni Dibate said: “This is an exciting time for aviation in Africa. By creating a neutral platform for all aviation stakeholders to come together, share knowledge, information and best practice, we aim to create a new era in collaboration for air traffic management in Africa.”

Boni Dibate joined ATNS as Chief Operating Officer in 2004 before moving to its training business in 2010. Her extensive network, knowledge and experience in air traffic management means she is well placed to offer significant value to CANSO and the African ATM community.

Expanding CANSO’s presence in Africa is an important part of the association’s Waypoint 2013 strategy. Boni’s secondment follows the signing of an MoU to create the Africa Office during the CANSO Global ATM Summit & 15th AGM earlier this year.
