Event Title: African Regional Safety Seminar
Date: Sunday, 28 October 2012
Target Audience: African ANSP safety personnel (CANSO Members and non-members) and/or any position with the ANSP that is responsible for implementing and/or maturing a Safety Management System (SMS), managing and measuring safety measures.
Focus: This seminar will focus on best practices and regional challenges relating to SMS implementation, safety culture, accident investigations and data collection.
Event Title: ICAO/CANSO Regional Runway Safety Seminar
Date: Monday, 29 October – Tuesday, 30 October 2012
Target Audience: The African l Aviation Industry bringing together participants from the African ANSPs, Airport Operators, Pilots and Oversight agencies?.
Focus: This seminar will focus on risks related to runway incursions and runway excursions and the associated mitigations. This seminar includes a workshop on building runway safety teams.
Event Title: African Regional Operations Workshop
Date: Tuesday, 30 October - Thursday, 1 November 2012
Target Audience: Operational personnel from African ANSPs, all airspace users (military, airlines, corporate, business, etc.) that are responsible for the development/implementation of airspace/airport changes, procedures and/or practices pertaining to air traffic management or flight operations. This event is open to both CANSO members and non-members.
Focus: This seminar/workshop will focus on best practices and regional challenges relating to operational improvements and efficiency gains with the goal of a resulting action plan that can be led by an African team. Information on the Aviation System Block Upgrade (ASBU) concept, the 12th meeting of the ICAO Air Navigation Commission and Flight Plan 2012 will also be included in the program.
Event Title: CANSO Safety Standing Committee (SSC) Global ATM Safety Conference
Time: 0830 – 1700
Target Audience: The Global ATM Safety Conference will be open to all delegates (including non-CANSO members) on Wednesday, 31 October. On Thursday and Friday attendance is only permitted for CANSO Safety Standing Committee members. The CANSO SSC Global ATM Safety Conference is focused at ANSP Safety Directors and Safety Professionals.
Focus: This Conference will focus on decision topics discussed by the Safety Standing Committee Working Groups with a special focus on ATM Safety within the next 10 years. Conference attendees will also hear from CANSO Associate Members regarding their view of the future of ATM.
